As the title of the post states, yes, over in England a Bible was auctioned off for 59,000 pounds. I don't have a key for the symbol for pounds on here, or know the secret code to make it, but I will tell you, that is about $94,000 in our shitty U.S. currency. This was not any bible mind you. It once belonged to Elvis Presley. It had been given to him on Christmas of 1957, by his aunt and uncle.
If I had $94,000, I would never spend it on a bible, unless of course it actually told the truth. But as we all know, the Bible is just hearsay from a bunch of people that hadn't even figured out the internet yet.

On this day, 21 years ago, Pearl Jam - "Ten" came out
It was August 27th, 1991. Pearl Jam releases their debut album Ten. Nothing happens. Late 1992 rolls around, the album finally reaches the top 200 on the billboard charts after the explosion of Nirvana and the Seattle "grunge" scene. At the time I had never heard Pearl Jam, but hearing the name lots, when a girl in my class asked me what bands I liked, I said "ya know, Pearl Jam and stuff"...

Smashing Pumpkins on Leno/ Me and Corgan's girlfriend..
The Smashing Pumpkins played a song on Jay Leno this past Thursday. Considering all you hear about Corgan being a shithead, I guess that makes sense. I do not want to condemn ol' Billy though, I enjoyed the song that him and three other people played. It is just very hard to accept this as The Smashing Pumpkins with Billy being the only original member. While I do realize that he was the one who wrote everything, and from what he says, former guitarist James Iha and bassist D'arcy Wretzky hardly played on the actual recordings, I still struggle for some reason.
Oh, did I ever mention how I had naked pictures of Corgan's girlfriend?

Avett Brothers Streaming new record..
The Avett brothers are allowing 10 minutes of their new album(due out Sept. 11) to be streamed on youtube. If this isn't good enough for you, on August 30th, the whole album will be streaming at npr.org. The record is titled "The Carpenter"..simple and blue collar...I like it. Upon first listen, the music does not seem too far off course from what they have been doing, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Last time I saw these guys live, it was at Roseland ballroom. The show was filled with beautiful women in love....with the band. I met a girl in line who knew every little fact about the band ever and who had seen them play live more times than they had even played live. She had an Avett addiction, and no she did not have a boyfriend. Not sure anyone could put up with that shit. Nice girl though.

John Lennon's killer up for parole/John Lennon's tooth still hanging around
Mark David Chapman, 57, will be granted a parole hearing this week. This will be the seventh parole hearing he has had. That being said, obviously he will be denied and go back to being a waste of space in a prison cell. It wasn't until a few months ago that I visited the actual place (the Dakota building across from "Strawberry Fields" in Central park) where it happened. The story is still pretty chilling looking back. There are a few facts that a lot of people don't know...

Paul Ryan loves RATM, Tom Morello hates Paul Ryan
Mitt Romney's recent VP pick is a man named Paul Ryan. I do not know much about this turkey, but if Romney endorses him, I do not want to know much about him. Unfortunately though, I did not escape learning one fact about the man. He claims that Rage Against The Machine is one of his favorite bands. He isn't a fan of the lyrics of course, but the music he feels is totally awesome!

Bruce Springsteen to re-write National Anthem
First and foremost, apologies for the lack of posts lately. Been working like a dog...well, I guess if dogs worked a lot or at all. But enough about me, let's talk about someone people care about slightly more: The Boss. A recent poll done by 60 Minutes and Vanity Fair names Springsteen as the leading choice to re-write the National Anthem. Following Bruce was Dolly Parton, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and Weird Al.. Okay I may have added the last one.
