New York City to host Greatest Free Concert Ever.
That's right. It has been confirmed that on September 29th, Neil Young, The Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Band Of Horses and K'naan will be playing at the Great Lawn at Central Park. The purpose of the concert is to draw attention to global poverty. I can get behind this for sure. I have been trying to do this for a while now by wearing filthy ripped jeans and stained t-shirts, however, most people just thought it was an attempt to bring back "grunge".
So the concert is free, but there is a catch. Tickets will only be given out by some sort of lottery and will involve a social media app called Global Citizen. I am not sure how it will work yet, but things like donating to charity or getting educated on different issues will increase your chances. I think the concert should be free to all homeless and people living in poverty. How it would work is this: you bring your latest bank statement or last years w2 to an office where tickets are given to those who qualify, or if you have neither of these things, you qualify. But, like most of my genius ideas, this probably won't happen.
