The Wallflowers, who haven't released an album since "Rebel, Sweetheart" (2005), have finally gotten their shit together to record a new album. The album is called "Glad All Over", and will be available October 2nd of this year. On the first (of possibly two single's), "Reboot the Mission", Jakob Dylan recruits Mick Jones of the Clash fame to join on guitar and vocals. When I saw a quote from Dylan saying, the Wallflowers were aspiring to be "a rock band that could make a dance track too" I was a little worried, like, please don't tell me they've also brought in Timbaland...
Thankfully, although initially startled by the disco-beat, once the song got going I felt relieved. It has more of a Rolling Stones vibe to it, think "I Miss You" mixed with the more dance-y styled Clash songs. Not a bad effort, I can see it in the club with little shorty's dancing around to it, backing their asses up. And if all goes well, I will be right there with them doing my signature move "the Puppet"...
